Volunteer Expression of Interest

If you are keen to be a volunteer with BLCP, please get in touch with us by providing us with some basic information for our initial consideration.

Volunteering with Us

We welcome volunteers from all over the world to assist BLCP in the many areas of its operations in particular as teachers for its Education Program and as dentists in its Health Program. Volunteers join us because they wish to make a meaningful contribution to those in need by putting to good use their talents and skills. We do not operate as a volunteer tourist organisation or act as a volunteer placement company in that we do not charge our prospective volunteers any money to engage with us nor do we require volunteers to make any monetary contribution to fund or be required to promote our activities. Both YourAid and BLCP are genuine charity organisations which exist solely to improve the wellbeing of the people, in particular the children of Cambodia.

Our Education Program’s focus is to provide English and computer classes to students. For our English classes, we are starting a new initiative to enable digital volunteers to give English lessons through the internet. It allows you to conduct the lesson from anywhere in the world.

Our dental clinics are now known amongst the dental community in many western countries. Since commencement of our Dental Program, over 100 dentists and dental assistants from several countries including Australia, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, South Korea and Germany have volunteered in our clinics.

Interested volunteers in our dental and education projects are expected to have both qualifications and experience. We are not an organisation where people come to seek training in their field of interest. However, we do provide orientation on the work involved as a volunteer. While we welcome volunteers, any engagement with us in this role would require volunteers to take into account the following considerations:

  • That the reason to volunteer should not be for it to be part of a vacation or holiday experience;

  • That the engagement should be for not less than one week;

  • Accommodation will not be provided;

  • Any expenses including for food and transport will not be reimbursed; and

  • No assistance will be provided for visa applications or dealings with the relevant Governmental authorities.

Interested volunteers are invited to refer to BLCP’s Volunteers Guide Book here and and to our Volunteer Management Policy which would be provided upon preliminary acceptance of your engagement.
