Dental Program - Healthy Smiles, National Spotlight!
The BLCP program received national recognition on BTV News, highlighting its involvement in a recent 'Oral Health Awareness Day' held in Kampot in partnership with Colgate Cambodia
BLCP on National TV- BTV News covered our Oral Health Event
The event saw enthusiastic participation from approximately 500 local community members, including representatives from Kampot's provincial and district education departments, Toek Chhou district administration, local authorities, parents, teachers, and students. Its focus was on promoting oral hygiene and providing dental care to both students and the broader community. The overwhelmingly positive feedback from the community highlights the significant impact and success of the BLCP Dental Programs implemented todate.
The Dental Program has continued its vital work, significantly impacting the oral health of children in our target provinces. This quarter’s highlights include:
Our program successfully delivered free dental services, encompassing screenings, preventive treatments, and essential oral health education to thousands of children across 24 target schools.
Both our fixed clinics and the indispensable mobile clinic have been instrumental in providing a high volume of dental treatments, surpassing our targets for the period and demonstrating a notable increase in treatments compared to the same timeframe last year.
We're delighted to report strong outcomes, showcasing the program's effectiveness in improving children's dental health and reducing instances of students needing further treatment after screening.
The National Oral Health Bureau was very impressed and praised our Dental Hub system during their recent Monitoring & Evaluation visit to our dental clinic and expressed strong interest in adopting our model.
National Oral Health Bureau, MOH & PMD officers were impressed by the efficiency of our dental clinics, in particular, the use of Dental Hub software for patient record management.
Continue Learning - Professor from University of Puthisastra shared some updates in pediatric detistry to our clinic staff.
WASHH Program: Water So Clean, Kids Can Taste the Difference!
BLCP’s WASHH Program is dedicated to improving the health of Cambodian children by providing safe drinking water, access to adequate sanitation facilities and education on health, hygiene and food safety.
Kids compare WPS water vs. branded bottled water – WPS is Better (pH 7.5-8.5)!
We continued to provide safe drinking water to more than 87,000 students across hundreds of schools through our Water Purification Systems (WPS).
We also conducted water quality tests on a regular basis, including microbial analysis and pH testing, on water from the WPS. The water quality was confirmed to be completely safe, with no microbes detected and a pH level between 7.5 and 8.5. This was indeed an eye-opening demonstration for students and teachers that WPS water is healthier than even the branded bottled water.
60 schools were identified for new WPS & 6 new schools have received funds for sanitation facility construction & renovation. Rollout will commence in August, 2025.
Children were encouraged to use durable water bottles instead of single-use plastic bottles.
A hand washing facility funded by BLCP
This quarter, our efforts in renovating a toilet block and constructing 3 new handwashing stations & 7 waste management facilities directly benefited over 3000 students.
Concurrently, we provided health, hygiene, and environmental education to children at 63 schools focusing on food safety, safe drinking water, overall and oral hygiene, and plastic waste reduction.
These initiatives have successfully raised children's awareness of the health and environmental impacts of sugary foods and plastic waste. As a result, most schools have demonstrated reduction in plastic waste and better-managed food and drink offerings at canteens
Education & Model Schools: Building Foundations for Tomorrow
BLCP’s Education Programme helps children access greater knowledge and opportunities through library services and free English, Computing, Khmer, non-formal & preschool classes.

Community Development - Building Resilient Communities
Initiated in 2022, the Anglungkuki Community Development (ACD) Program began in Anglungkuki Village and has since 2025 expanded to include Mean Rith Village. Its core objective is to enhance the economic, social & well-being status of targeted vulnerable households, particularly those families holding ID Poor 1 & 2 (Poverty Identification in Cambodia)
Since its implementation, this program has uplifted the living conditions of many vulnerable families, enabling many children to access education with vital assistance. We have further expanded our efforts to assist families in becoming self-sustaining through our Income Generating Activities (IGA). Each project was carefully designed to address specific needs, offering solutions from immediate relief to long-term sustainability, thereby empowering families to enhance their living conditions and achieve greater self-reliance.
